Is this a choice? →
Whether it is or isn't, it's yours. The scientific consensus points toward orientation not being something people choose, but also: who cares? You're allowed to be who you are regardless of the mechanism. The love is real either way.
What if I'm not sure yet? →
Then you're not sure yet, and that's fine. The community will still be here. The Pride parade will still happen. Your future self will figure it out, and your current self is doing great.
Do I have to come out? →
No. Coming out is for you, not for anyone else. You do it when it's safe, when it feels right, and only if you want to. Staying private is a perfectly legitimate choice. Safety is always the first consideration.
Is there a wrong way to be gay? →
No. Femme gays, masc gays, gay people who hate musicals, gay people who love football, gay people who are introverted and quiet and don't feel visible — all of them count. All of them are in the club. The club is very large.
